Black Swan.
FINALLY seeing "Black Swan" today with Katie! My little sister's best friend has seen it four times. I'm hoping it's that good. I'll let you know my thoughts after! In the meantime enjoy these stunning stills.

the great weight debate.

Does anyone really model, Allie, from Whitney Port's the City? Any thoughts on the picture above? We would be appalled if the model in this dress had a muffin top - no one would buy it for fear of looking like her or being considered plus size. But the second we deem someone too thing, all hell breaks looks. What are you thoughts on Allie's size? I find that for online shopping - a model with realistic proportions deems better than overtly thin (think runway model). She's a beautiful girl - I just find the ridicule so sad. It's always something isn't it...
Here is the info reported by stylist.com - you'll find the link above.
It seems that the skinny model debate has moved from the runway to the computer screen.
A model on the Revolve Clothing website has caused concern among several customers because of her ultra-skinny frame, reports Styleite.
The model in question sports a black leather and mesh dress by BCBG on Revolve's Website (and also appears in several other looks from the label). However, instead of commenting on the garment, the girl's super-thin appearance has caused furious and concerned customers to leave a slew of comments on the site, reflecting emotions ranging from disgust ("Absolutely gross. Her head even looks too big for her body!") to disappointment ("She is emaciated...why are you supporting this on your website?").
The model is reported to be Allie Crandell, who appeared on "The City," and was told by Kelly Cutrone that she was too thin in Season One of the show.
The backlash against Crandell's image has prompted the Revolve team to take action. They posted a message saying that they "are working closely with both the model and her agent to get her to a healthier size. She won't be appearing in any of our new product batches or in any of our fashion editorial photos moving forward until the issue is adequately addressed."

JRR + TF

Julia Restoin Roitfeld for V Magazine in Tom Ford via huffington post.
JULIA RESTOIN ROITFELD What made you decide that this was the season to return to fashion?
TOM FORD I told myself that I would not come back to women's fashion until I felt I had something new to say. I feel that fashion has become too serious and that the actual customer's needs have not really been addressed. Fashion needs to make one happy. It is a luxury and should enhance one's quality of life.
JRR What inspired your collection?
TF Real clothes for real women. I want to concentrate on my real customer. That's why I showed idealized versions of her -- different women of different ages. It was about individuality, different body types, women who have their own style.
JRR What do you think fashion needs more of right now?
TF Spontaneity. Fashion needs to be more fun.
JRR What personality traits does the Tom Ford woman possess?
TF My customer has her own sense of style and knows herself well. My goal is to help women become the best version of themselves.
JRR What is your favorite piece from the collection?
TF I love every piece. That is like asking someone which one of their children is their favorite.
JRR Outside fashion, what are you looking forward to this spring?
TF I have to say more fashion. I love what I am doing right now and can't wait to start the next collection.
JRR What was the last thing that made you laugh?
TF I laugh a good bit so that is a hard question. I suppose a phone call I just had with Richard [Buckley] five minutes ago made me laugh pretty hard. He has a wicked sense of humor.
JRR What's your New Year's resolution?
TF I don't have one. I believe in living life the way that you want to live it every day, and if you do that you don't really need to have New Year's resolutions.

That's going to be a beautiful baby!
"Natalie Portman is closing out an amazing 2010 with a huge announcement! The actress revealed to People that she is engaged to boyfriend Benjamin Millepied and the two are expecting a baby! Natalie and Benjamin met on the set of Black Swanwhere he was the choreographer. He also recently posed for a Club Monaco ad campaign. Natalie has received tons of critical acclaim for her role in the movie and has already earned Golden Globe and SAG nominations. It sounds like her award season gown picks are going to have to accomodate a baby bump — huge congrats to the happy couple!"
Update Natalie released a statement to EW saying, "I have always kept my private life private but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience."

thoughts of my monday.

My skinny jeans are NOT working with my over-the-knee boots. Dare I saw I'm pondering stirrup pants... No one else will know, but me! But can I live with that? I just want them to fit like a glove, and have NO bunches. Gooosh it's so hard being me.

Your daily dose of Zoe.
We had actually the conversation last night - why don't we all just pick out a bridesmaids dress, and all use it at our weddings. Katie suggest a nice gray (Kaela/ LJ) - I think this one is pretty, but it might be too trendy!
This one is pretty too. Go J. Crew!

But it will hopefully be this cute!

Uh oh. Tonight I had the pleasure of watching the Grimm Family home videos. Adam and I should not procreate - we are going to have the most hyper, ill behaved, insane children. He loved to sing and I was just hateful. Good thing we've got a solid 5-7 years until we board that train.
bffffffff.

you can't really go wrong with jeans, boots and neutrals up top. kudos ladies kudos.
note: i am craving conjito's mexican food (it's in downtown milwaukee) if you're being cool and not watching the packer game, why don't you join me for some tostadas, before my 'nightcap' with the ladies!
river island.

River Island can be found on Asos ( us.asos) and the brand has some very up to date yet inexpensive looks. I personally have fallen in love with their blouses, and like the idea of putting them under a leather jacket for some extra kick-ass-ness. Very versatile and not too trendy. Definitely suggest checking it out!
